The profession "prostitution" is known to be one of the jobs considered lowly and is illegal in most countries. However, some countries legalize prostitution and one of those countries is Banglandesh. One of the brothels that can be found in Bangladesh is Kandapara, the oldest and second largest brothel in the said country, which is located in Tangail district. A German photographer named Andrew Biraj took photos of the girls working under Kandapara and shared it to the world. These women need to work for five years without payment and are not allowed to go outside. The estimated earning of a prostitute daily ranges from $11-$22. One of the workers in the brothel, Meghla, said that she used to be a garment factory worker when she was twelve until he met a man and swore her that she would have a better-paying job. Unfortunately, the "better-paying job" that the man was talking about was a brothel.
